La Casa 4 (given out in class on the Monday students return to school)
There was no quiz this week, but we continue to learn the new vocabulary for homes, apartments, and furniture. We reviewed the La Casa homework and cleaned out our Spanish folders. Students will be bringing home many papers from Chapter 1, but keeping a few select assignments (particulaly the Chapter 1 vocabulary list and the Chapter 1 review). All Chapter 2 assignments remain in the Spanish folder. We also watched a video about Christmas in Mexico, which lasts for nearly two months - from the Feast of the Immaculate Conception in December until Candlemas on February 2nd. The homework (La Casa 3) is to design their own house on a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 paper (folded in half like a card, with the exterior of their house on the front and the interior of their house on the inside). They should label as many parts of their house as possible, using the word bank. They are limited to 3 words that are not in the word bank, which they can look up in a Spanish dictionary if they wish. An additional homework page will be given out after vacation (La Casa 4) as quiz practice.
